The major disc comes to prosecute against the search engine Seeqpod for failure to respect copyright.
Launched in mid-2007 and until now relatively unknown, Seeqpod now enjoys a Showboat media unintentional. While following the signing of an agreement for distribution, Warner Music agreed to drop its lawsuit against the online community Imeem, a major disc now in its collimator a search engine.
No accommodation therefore legal
The main feature of Seeqpod is indeed to leave in search at the request of the user, music available on the Web (sites, blogs, platforms sale, ...) including video clips and to propose listening. Pas hosting Seeqpod but nevertheless offers an opportunity for its members registered to download a song (capture the flow broadcast streaming). What agitated quite Warner Music, which accuses the search service to display links to the sites containing illegal copies of titles protected by copyright, can be played on demand or saved to a playlist.
. For its part, argues SeeqPod its legality under the American law of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act that the sites and search engines are not responsible for the legality of the links they provide.
Warner Music will lead to the signing of an agreement out of court or if SeeqPod will head to the end, in which case it is not sure that the ball is in the of the camp staff.
